I have owned six Toyota's, all bought brand new over the past 25-years, and our average ownership of the Toyota's is 8+ years. I have only had to replace one battery, and that battery was three years old in our Sienna. The Toyota replacement battery is now 7+ years old and it is still going strong, and we live in the rust belt. Based on my experience, the Toyota Battery is built very well.

My 2004 Dodge Durango still has the original battery in it. How in hell did it last that long? I do keep it on a battery tender but I still can't believe it lasted that long. It finally bit the dust today. 8/27/19

My batteries, which are not even the expensive ones, last at least 5 years. Just yesterday I turned in an EverStart that was 9 years old. What does p*ss me off is how much the prices have gone. $75 was getting crazy; now they're around $90. They should be $60. If a battery sits, use a maintainer; long-term crystallization will impede its capacity.

Years ago I bought the cheapest battery the local auto part store sold. The battery was made by a local company. It lasted 4 or 5 years for me.

                      Scotty, Great Vids, Thanks!

Question for ya... I've had several cars and trucks over the years. The A/C blows like the dickens for the first year or so. But after a while the highest fan speed seems to disappear. Just doesn't blow as hard as it used to. Had Toyota, Nissan and one Chrysler. All did the same thing. Do you see this as often or am I just losing my mind?

Actually cold operating temperatures extend the lifespan of the battery while simultaneously reducing it's ability to deliver power.

The colder the temperature the lower the available CCA.

Warm the battery up and it's ability to deliver power will increase.

The local wreckers sell batteries out of the junked vehicles. I check date codes and buy 1 - 2 year old batteries. Sometimes there’s factory warranty. Plus the wrecker gives 90 days replacement. Under $50

Scotty doesn't seem to talk about the gigantic increase in electronics within cars. Lead batteries really haven't changed much at all. I worked in a battery plant and I don't know what he is talking about when it comes to 'quality decreases in those.

What really seems to help is to keep the battery decently charged, not letting them get severely drained.

It didn't have a brand on it but i would of bought the same brand again. And somehow currently im still using the one i replaced on it, its a used one. My 2015 Silverado has had more problems than my 2008 chevy Tahoe did, The Silverado has 27,200 miles on it. compared to the Tahoe, 97,600 miles with way less complications or fault errors when I traded it in. Modern technology is a joke, the automobile manufactures just found another way to take our hard earned money! this is just my opinion!!!!

Second time I got a battery from battery plus lasted more then 5 years until I sold it (don’t know how long for the new owner).
