The online right thinks identity politics is bad
Until they have to prove they’re not racist “my wife’s Indian” excuse from Mcginnes. Or “I’m half Asian” from Tim pool. Then identity politics is perfectly legitimate. Also: EVERYONE who disagrees with me is a crazy Marxist cuck....
The right “identity politics for me but not for thee” wing!

Republicans and their shitty politics are more of a problem than identity politics. Joe Rogan loves the fear mongering of sjws. The right too it’s all they have.

The comment section is cracking me up. Clearly some online conservative group put out an urgent call to action for all of their members to comment on this video. They've all been given very specific talking points such as "mention his use of the anti defamation league", and "Point out how he compares the Tea Party to Antifa", and "Dispute his claim that he's a reasonable leftist, and accuse him of being an extremist"... Here's a piece of advice to all of you right wing trolls - try to read what your fellow members wrote before your post so you aren't saying the exact same thing over and over, therefore giving it away that you're writing as part of some right wing call to action. It's so transparent that it's kind of hilarious. What I'm trying to figure out is why did this particular video got on your radar?

@Anthony Parker and the Near Life Experience I mean, you're free to have any conspiracy theory you'd like, but I'm going to ask for evidence that what you're saying is accurate. Right now you've just got a "Well that's what it looks like to me..." and sorry, but that's not good enough evidence. Same reason why I don't buy into Flat Earth.

@Ravie You can argue against the ADL until you're blue in the face, I really don't give a crap, as I have no skin in that game. It's very simple to put out a call to action to a political community. You post the youtube video you want them to watch and talking points you want them to say in case they don't have time to watch the video and come up with them on their own. I don't know why they did it, I just know they did. My guess is it's a Jordan Peterson fan club or something as David Pakman has been outspoken in his criticism of JP. I've seen a lot of youtube videos and read way too many comments, and I've never seen such uniformity in a comment section like this. It was coordinated, and done so quite easily.

@Anthony Parker and the Near Life Experience Two points, first youtube does not recommend videos to a random group of people, they recommend videos based on how likely they think you are to click on it and watch, which means that if early on the highest engagement was from people who watch a certain type of right wing content (and given what the title says Packman is talking about that makes sense) then youtube will recommend the video to every other person with similar watch history meaning we don't have a random sample of people (or even Joe Rogan fans).

Second no doubt the type of channels they watch talk about orgs like the ADL and why they are problematic. The ADL and the SPLC are not authoritative sources. They both have been repeatedly involved in defamation lawsuits they have often lost. The problem isn't their space as a commentator but rather that people pretend that they have any authority whatsoever. They have a religious bias, they are a Jewish group and they pretend that this doesn't affect their interpretation of what is "hate", it does, they arn't actually secular.

The primary criticism of the ADL should be the fact that they have a left leaning bias in who they criticize. This doesn't mean they don't have their critics on the left: https://www.jta.org/2018/04/19/united-states/jewish-civil-rights-group-became-villain-far-left-2

From groups that look at how political non-profits opperate (look at the references on this one to get a better picture of what they do): https://www.influencewatch.org/non-profit/anti-defamation-league/

Other Jewish groups for their political slant (especially as it is perceived to exist in regard to Israeli politics): https://cija.ca/adls-progressivism-undermines-its-credibility-in-combating-antisemitism/

I still think the ADL's problem is primarily in what they don't say. You can agree with their positions or not, but they arn't an authority. Left wingers who arn't paying attention use the ADL as a scapegoat for not being able to argue over whether or not something about race or biases good or bad when they don't have any thoughts of their own.

The ADL is highly falible organization that is often propped up to facilitate lazy talking points.

The idea that people would waste their time bombing a Joe Rogan comments section is mind bogglingly overcomplicated. Ocams/Hanlons razor buddy.

@Ravie I'll concede that I shouldn't have used the word troll. But the reality is, very few people watch videos beyond the first minute or so, yet somehow, dozens of people, all very right leaning, all decided to watch this ONE particular video, staying tuned for over two thirds of the video, all on the exact same day (yes the majority of these comments happened on the exact same day). And they ALL commented on about the same thing, meaning they all have the exact same set of knowledge about the ADL and antifa, etc. You may also notice that when several of the commenters were pressed on where they get their bias against the ADL, they provided no evidence other than angry assertions, which means they really don't know squat about it beyond the fact that they were told in their call to action to bring it up. And notice that until my post, the comment section was practically quiet after the barrage the comments saying the same thing. Given the popularity and the amount of views on this video, if that was not a coordinated spam attack, it would have continued to trickle in. No, this was planned, period.

People are making the same points because they are obvious or easiest ones to make. The ADL is a politically biased organization, that one is the easiest. The tea party was a grassroots political movement not a protest/riot organization.

Calling people you disagree with trolls solves nothing. Most people arn't creative, yourself included.

I agree. It is mostly a very vocal minority on the left that subscribes to these identity politics. With that being said, there’s more of those people than there are of these far-right “white nationalists” which the media tells us to be very afraid of.

The reason the adl has more right wing hate on record is because the adl is itself infested by left wing ideology. So they ignore left wing hate. Which is also why you then get them labeling things like pepe the frog as a "hate symbol"

Most “ incidents of hate “ coming from the right is a skewed stat, because the definition of hate crime is biased to apply to minorities that lean left. The “vocal minority” on the Left is also a violent minority. The Left stalks and assaults and defames and prevents speech at astronomically higher rates than the right. They seem to want a war, and if the Left brings it, the right will end it.

Those numbers are flat out false. A study by criminologists at Florida State, Penn State and University of Cincinnati show that leftists are THREE times more likely to commit
political violence than those on the right. The reasoning was, as Inauguration Day 2017 showed, those on the right feel they have "a lot to lose" by committing violence. Usually families, jobs and other responsibilities. Inauguration Day 2017 showed leftists committing arson all through Washington DC. When Obama won, there was no such violence from the right. So this guy is simply trying to portray himself as a "rational leftist", while using false data from a left wing group.

And yes, Muslims are not defacto left, if they have beliefs that align politically with the right, then they are right wing.

Did he really agree that most hate attacks are from people on the right? LMFAO That's because when a leftist attacks a conservative or a white person, they don't classify it as a hate crime. That's the problem, dipshit, Here's a relevant stat for you, stupid: 84.9% of the time that there is an interracial violent crime between a black and whit eperson, the black person is the perpetrator, and the white person is the victim. If 93% of blacks are left wing, and 67% of whites are right wing, how is your statistic even possible? The answer is, it's NOT!

Let him teach at a LEFTIST school like Berkeley, and his interaction would have been handled differently. BC is one of about 10% of Universities and colleges in America that is conservative. Notre Dame, Baylor, Oral Roberts, Catholic University....they handle things differently than Marxist Universities.

When the topic goes back to the left he immediately says he doesn't want to make a "false equivalency". Nobody was making a false equivalency. Nobody was even comparing the two. The only person bringing the right wing up is him and everytime he does he basically says the right is worse as a means to deflect. He doesn't explain what they do or how the left is not wrong. He agrees with Joe and immediately deflects to the right
