Australia is populated. With dangerous animals. You can literally wake up and see a scorpion or snake in your toilet

You were lucky in SA that cop has targets to reach. They will usually book you for the tiniest infringment. It is so bad that it is reported that ppl are loosing their licences and then their jobs then there homes.

When it comes to roo's you want big spot lights to see way ahead of you, a bullbar in case you hit one, and you can get roo whisles that make a high pitch sound scaring them away.

Kangaroos 🦘 insist on bounding along parallel to your car for a bit, they then make a sharp 90 degree turn & insist on getting to the other side of the road as close to your front bumper as possible. This is bred into each & every one of the. In Australia. I’m a 7th generation Aussie who’s ancestors were pioneers of this country who once owned 3142 acres of bush 400km’s from my home in Sydney so I’ve seen this kangaroo 🦘 phenomenon hundreds of times both night & day.
The Aussie version of that, “ why did the chicken cross the road” joke should be,” why did the kangaroo 🦘 hop head first into your bull bar”?

Just did Adelaide to Sydney. Picked up my 8th z32. 1300km with no thermo or engine fan and rad zip tied in, exhaust temps skyrocketing over 90km/h. Hundreds of km between fuel stops in the middle of nowhere. Kangaroo bodies everywhere, including my chassis rails and exhaust. Driving over the body in the middle of the night pulled the left side of my front bar off the guard... Definitely would do it again.

Nulla arbor - no tree in Latin. Did it myself many years ago. Perth to Sydney in a Daihatsu Sirion. Went like clockwork. Most important thing is to time yourself so you always hit a roadhouse and don't drive after dusk.

The camel just ran across the road at the wrong time. The Ute had a bull bar. The Ute was written off and the camel party exploded on impact covering everything inside and outside the car in camel.

Driving the Nullabor is no worse than many roads in Oz. Biggest problem is no service available. And running a Porker with a run flat spare or no spare is very silly. You can be stranded for days waiting for a tyre let alone a rim. Or a windscreen. They have a very short life in outback Oz, even on bitumen highways. Trucks drag gravel and rocks onto the roads and spray them everywhere.
One of the places I will not go without two spares. And that with a Landcruiser that is far more likely to find spare parts and tyres

Main problem is getting hit and they fuck up your radiator then you're stuck in the desert. It's a good, well maintained road, too heavily policed. I've crossed it 9 times over the years in everything from an old shit box car, to a sports car (Honda Prelude), to a 4wd towing a three and half Ton caravan. Never had a problem
