I know people are going to debate the Challenger being classified as a sports car. Well it’s a muscle/sports car and it’s a competitor to the Corvette, which is a sports car.

If it has no back seat, then you probably weren't conceived in it, and *it's definitely not a sports car.*

A SPORTY car is just about anything that's fun to drive,

Sorry, Challenger isn't a competitor to the Corvette. Camaro, sure. Corvette, no. That would be where the Viper comes into play.

Pro-tip, homie. A sportscar is something that was designed from the ground up on its own platform that wasn't shared with any other model. Corvettes, RX7s, and Miatas qualify as sportscars. The Challenger doesn't -- it was designed from a sedan platform.

Can anyone help? I opened the hood on my 2000 SLK 230 to the "service" position (aka all the way up).
I can't close it. The support to keep the hood up isn't a metal rod that you lift up into place-it's a cylinder attached top and bottom to the driver's side of the hood.
There's a button that says, "Press" that pops out to lock the hood up in position. But when I try to press it again to lower the hood, I have to raise the hood up a little. When it starts to come down, that "Press" button pops back out and it's locked in the upright position again.
I've tried holding the "Press" button in with a screwdriver to try to sneak the cylinder past the "Press" button "pressed in", but I can't make it work.
          Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Well Scotty. I think you talked me outta buying a Porsche. I was on the fence, and you pushed me over and off! Thanks, I think. I always hear, get rid of an Audi when the warranty ends. I'm surprised you didn't mention the BMW 6 and 7 series.

Got myself a Porsche 928s, years ago. It was my dreamcar. Enjoyed a few years; it was always in need of something. Got rid of it asap. Huge moneypit. As is any car north of 180/200hp...
In fact I got a renault Clio RS 197hp. Great car. Another moneypit. Now I have a 75hp old Ford Ka. It has a huge sunroof, air conditioning, and no appeal whatsoever for theft. Any spare part I can go to a junkyard. I love it! Now my money goes into motorbikes (the only things that can get you where you need in a reasonable time) and emtbs. I'm much happier this way.

Being a person who's worked on and driven most all those cars he is right the 996 Porsche is kind of the odd duck out but they're built so well MS bearing 3% piston slap 4% so it's literally over exaggerated the Mercedes parts are expensive they're not really a performance sports car like the poor she is the challenger American made that says enough for that now and then 1st editions 2nd additions not too good but for the most part he has good knowledge buddies off 80% as my opinion

I personally own a 1983 sc and a 1997 Boxster and believe me when I tell you that I drive the crap out of them daily and they have been a joy to drive and own. I drive the older Porsche daily in the spring summer and fall, put thousands of kilometres without a single hiccup. Get your facts straight before you bad mouth cars. Cheers

The 911 holds its value well and old ones are worth 6 figures. Buy a 1990's 996 911 and there's no way it's going to depreciate anymore. Many Porsche models have been sky rocketing in value. Very pure sports cars with limited electronic garbage. A low mileage, well maintained 911 will not hurt you until you hurt it.

Has not broken does, fallen apart or anything like that. The only thing I have had to do is replace the driver side door handle, common issue with the type of handle used on many cars today. The one thing I have seen when looking for used Solstice's on line is just about all of them have 80+K miles on them. The engine 2.4L is tough proven power train. The differential comes from a Cadillac T series. We get it Scotty, you don't like GM cars. You must have grown up driving Fords or Chryslers.
