I have... a 2007 Ford Ranger that I bought new. Never garaged, exposed to Connecticut winters and I maybe waxed it with a polish once per year and sometimes sprayed it on at the car wash. It still shines and looks almost new, but the surface feels very dry.

I grew up watching u on the telly & love that ure on YT 🤘🏻 please do more of these. Question: what would be a good paint protection for Alaska Snow? Or is it less harmful than TX sun? I have clear "bra" on the front half installed on new Forrester for rocks, etc. Thanks!

I wash mine with water most of the time or the spray cleaner from Meguiars. And sometimes soap. And then I wax it each season.

Scotty Kilmer I usually polish and then wax. Twice the work but I think the polish shows the depth better.

Scotty i heard polish is really good for buffing not as a wax cuz its somewhat abrasive and will slowly shave off the clear coat thats why it looks so good is its taking off minimal scratches on the coat

Nothing replaces a good Brazilian Carnauba like Mothers makes. Nu finish is not an adequate substitute for Brazilian carnauba. It may be more difficult to remove, but the protective coating is far more substantial.

I wax my car the easy way: first I spray the roof, etc. with a wax/soap, then I pressure wash it down, then I polish it by hand. I do it at least 6-8 times a year, too. Only problem: I change my car every 3-4 years, so I've never seen a difference in the long-term.

Goo Gone is a really good product. The original was for latex paint clean up ( I'm a painter) . They also make other products like adhesive removers and they are citrus based. From my experience, they take a bit longer to work but are just effective as their chemical counterparts and way more environmentally friendly.

I've always used Mcquires products, so how would their wax/polish compare to NuFinish? Using Mcquires I always get a great shine and it lasts, on my 2006 lexus LS430. Are you saying Nu Finish is better?

Good video. a good rinse before washing is very important. Also you should also rinse and wash from the top down. Both will save water and also clean better.
I would not use Goo Gone on paint / clear coat. I know it's good for grease and other stuff but I think it might be a little to strong.

Waxing a car often makes it a joy to clean and take care of. It's way less work than cleaning long-neglected pain, the dirt and road grime wants to slide right off.

Waxing can be relaxing. 😎 you also get to have the best dressed car in the parking lot, and it's slightly harder to scratch and ding the paint, and snow and ice glide off better.

I use Rainex car wash and rain repellent. It works better than wax. If the car isn’t that dirty you don’t even need to wash it.

Washing a car is easy but the typical toughest stuff to deal with is the lower part where you get tar kicked up off the road and all the sticky stuff from trees. If you want to go next level you can clay and use chemical fallout removers to get the embedded particulates out of the paint.

He/she will familiarize you with the process and the technical terms. As far as waxes are concerned use Meguire's, they are exceptionally good. So I see Scotty has finally gone into the advertising business.
