You can't do this effectively. There is inconsistency in current car models within a brand let alone all brands and models over time.

In my fathers 2009 Pontiacs defense, the thing has about 400,000 km on it and we barely had to put any work into it, we still use it but it's a company car now to haul materials and stuff and we are expecting it to last some more for now!

I keep coming back to this channel! Must be that same phenomenon that causes people slow for a wreck! LOL! But seriously, I do like your info. Toyota might have the track record for reliability but better hope you NEVER get one with a defect (especially a design defect like the inadequate AC in the AWD Siennas from last decade) because they will go OUT OF THEIR WAY to NOT do ANYTHING for you.

I had a bad experience with a brand new 2006 Ford Taurus. Think they made it with shoddy parts . A cylinder died around 60k and the starter did too around 80k .
Got a Honda. Since then I consider Ford to be a s****y auto company

GM pickups outsold Ford pickups third quarter of 2019. GM pickups have better resale. GM pickups get much better fuel mileage. No turbos equals no problems.

Reliable brands for 2019 not 1997: Toyota/Honda, Kia/Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, after that it's a wash between Ford, VW, Mitsubishi, and the rest.

I disagree regarding Kia/Hyundai. I have a 2010 accent with 125,000 miles and still going strong. Has never needed anything more than maintenance. Same for my Kia Sorento, granted its only a year old.

Fusion is top selling. But Honda does have great engines and Toyota has some of the most dependable cars too but no surprise with GM and Chrysler fiat😂😂

                                                                          • Alderman Fred C. Davis

The cars, the SUV's, and the trucks. Had a coworker who has one of Ford's big pickup trucks. The thing can't be more than 4 or 5 years old and the front where the hood meets the grill is rusting. Years ago, I had a 1995 Taurus SHO that was waxed religiously. Mechanically, the car was solid however, the paint on the hood started flaking and peeling, A LOT after about 4 years and rust was apparent on the rear fender wells after about 6 or 7 years. GM, Chrysler, and Ford can manufacture their cars in China, Jamaica, or Timbuktu, but NO more 'American' nameplate cars for me.

Been driving for 33 years and Fiat and Renault were never known for making good cars in the U.S., I bet a majority of non-car people wouldn't even realize these brands are still in business, let alone that they have major stakes in Chrysler and Nissan.

They're not for me, however, I have been seeing A LOT of Subaru's on the road in the past couple of years.

I have been surprisingly pleased with my 2017 Mazda3 Touring 6 speed standard transmission. Bought it of Mazda lot at 4 miles, within 2 years we have put 60k miles. Only things that have gone bad is battery at 57k and a small check valve for windshield washer fluid at 59k. If you value your money and want a fun and engaging car to drive, get a Mazda. They are not race cars btw, so dont expect it to accelerate fast, but with the standard you have more control on speed if you want decent acceleration.

Cool. I own a 20 year old Toyota Camry with over 200K miles and drives like a dream (everything works including the AC) and my wife bought a 2012 Honda Fit with only 40K miles on it and it too drives extremely well (it even tells you when the tire pressure is low- including the oil).
