I've been a mechanic for 21 years and have been driving Volvo for 14 year's... I've had nothing but quality and a fantastic driving experience. Bring me all ur Saab's as well I'll get you parts.. and if you would have spent more money on ur chainsaw it would of been made in Sweden. Just saying 😁

Sorry Scotty, but what you were saying about Saab is totally wrong. I own a 2001-9-3 Convertible and a 2007 Wagon, both 2.0 Turbos and work on both of them myself. Believe me, every time I need a part I have a big choice of suppliers and parts are cheap. Not just new parts either, reconditioned cylinder heads, alternators, starters are also readily available. And if you are buying a later model, like my 2007 9-3, virtually all the parts are GM anyway.

I have 3 volvos and so does my gf. Never had any major problems and have done all the maintenance on all of them. Best damn cars I ever bought nothing this easy to work on from any manufacturer. Love my volvos and will pass them down to my kids when I have some someday😆

One thing to correct. Geely isn’t a small car manufacturer. They were the 1st Chinese car company that knew how to build cars by themselves. Geely also has one of the best electric car technologies in the world.

The biggest Volvo factory has always been in Ghent, Belgium. It is true that Volvo’s labor force in Sweden is very happy, but it is also very, very expensive. That’s why Volvo has always built a lot of cars outside of Sweden. This has always been in Ghent, Belgium. Now more and more in China. Once the chinese think they understand the technology, they will close the factory in Belgium.

I don't think that Ford lost out on their ownership of Volvo. The brand Volvo lost out. Because, Ford had done nothing in terms of serious R&D, or any serious updates to existing models, throughout their ownership of volvo. What they did was reskin those existing Volvo models into Ford vehicles. The 500/Taurus, Fusion, Flex, and the current Explorer are all Ford models that were based on Volvo platforms.

Been doing extensive research from joining forums and groups in FB to learn more from MG owners about how their car is doing and taking opinions from respective mechanics like scotty. Ive concluded that they are on Hyundai's late 2000s level, which is prettt much reliable.

The largely untested (but more inexpensive and failure-prone) technology, critical engine parts made of plastic (that melts in warm climates) or made of weak and cheaply plated metals, continuously re-sourcing for the cheapest brake pads, exhaust parts, molex/electrical intermittent harnesses, etc, and of course the ever-present "brand-dang-new"electronics gadgetry that naturally fails first, all guarantee an unforgettable investment. DIE, VOLVO, DIE ! You now have the reputation of an old whore with EVERY DISEASE.
